It is with sadness that I report the death of John Beadman, of Braunston.  His son, Richard, says he died peacefully in his sleep during the evening of Christmas Day.

John had been Brooke tower captain from the installation of the bells in 1990 until 2018 when he gave up ringing.  He was Branch chairman for a number of years in the 1980’s and 1990’s and tower captain of Oakham for a while in the 1970”s.

BellBoard only shows about 40 quarter peals and 2 peals, mostly after year 2000, but there were many more than that in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Richard says his best estimate would be 250 quarter peals and 8 peals according to to Pealbase.
