The Culworth branch are hosting a seminar and practice session concentrating on Stedman.
Continuing his series of lectures, Robert Wood will be presenting a course on Stedman on Saturday, 8 November from 2.30 to 4.30 p.m. with an opportunity to practice ringing Stedman Doubles and/or Triples afterwards until 5.30 p.m. The course will be at Kings Sutton in the church hall (which is to the rear of the churchyard) with ringing after in the church. Note that Kings Sutton ringing chamber is accessed via a long stone spiral staircase, so isn't the easiest to reach if you have mobility issues.
Robert intends to cover the following:
Explanation of the structure of the method
- Explanation of the different front works and the names of the parts
- What happens above thirds place
- Singles in Doubles
- Bobs and singles in Triples
- Tips for ringing the method
It will probably best suit those who have already achieved at least a basic competence ringing doubles methods and are aware of Stedman's special challenges.
There is no charge (though voluntary contributions will be welcomed for refreshments) and members of other branches will be welcome
