As reported in the latest edition of The Ringing World (4th September) and at the recent Central Council conference, there is going to be a worldwide Ringing Census taking place from 16-22 November 2026.  The aim of the census is to give the Central Council "a current picture of how many people are ringing, where they are ringing, what their ringing looks like, and how they feel about being part of the ringing community".

There will opportunities for both individuals and towers to respond voluntarily to the request for information which will be gathered by digital means.  However, to ensure that there is an unbiased response, there is a list of 500 towers globally who will be encouraged to take part.  To help those towers, local facilitators known as voluntary enumerators which will trained up.  For example both Cathy and Simon Dixon are signing up for this role.
