Saturday 23rd April 2022 was a beautiful spring day and 10 teams sprang into action to compete in the Guild 6-bell striking competition at Wilbarston in the Kettering Branch.  There was open ringing before the competition at Stoke Albany and Wilbarston Village Hall was open during the competition for those needing a respite from the fresh breeze and where an excellent tea, provided by members of the Kettering Branch could be enjoyed.  Then it was back to the church for the results, 100 Club draw, raffle and short business meeting.

There were loads of winners - plenty of prizes had been donated for the raffle, the 100 Club winners were Frank Wilkes, Jane Sibson and Ros Atchinson, and Rothwell were the overall winners of the striking competition.

We were grateful to Stephanie Warboys who judged the competition and gave excellent constructive feedback to all teams, which included a few who were relative novices at competing at the Guild event.  Well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to all those who turned up to support the event.

The day finished with more open ringing at Brampton Ash, followed by the customary trip to a local hostelry.
